Our Voices, Bodies Rising, a new film celebrating the centennial of women’s suffrage in poetry and dance will be shown at 4 pm on Nov. 6th and 7th at Artistree’s Grange Theatre in South Pomfret, VT.Pandemic conditions forced choreographer/director Peggy Brightman and filmmaker Carla Kimball to take unusual approaches to create the film; they drew on a large and diverse cast of nearly 40 dancers, actors, poets,
poetry readers, and musicians from the Upper Valley community and beyond.
Following the film showing, cast members will be on hand to discuss their
role in the film and answer questions from the audience.
Free with a suggested donation at the door of $10 to benefit Artistree’s
scholarship fund and Brightspirit Arts, LLC. Masks must be worn, and proof
of vaccination provided.
